Description:
This pre-registration details a sub-study within the ALIVE project (survey), focusing on data collected through self-report instruments, neuropsychological tasks, and physiological measurements. The instruments selected for this analysis include the 15-item Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale Short Form (DERS) (Kaufman et al., 2016) to evaluate emotional regulation difficulties. Neuropsychological tasks involve the Emotional Go/No-Go Task (EGNG) and the Delayed Discounting Task (DD). Physiological data were obtained from 5-minute resting-state cardiac recordings using either an electrocardiograph (ECG) chest strap or a photoplethysmograph (PPG) earlobe device. The goal is to explore the relationship between heart rate variability (HRV) and self-regulation among adolescents living in low- and middle-income countries, specifically in Colombia, South Africa, and Nepal.
